Free spectacle that beats Vegas.
The Dubai Fountain is the world's largest choreographed fountain system — and it's completely free. Located on the 30-acre Burj Khalifa Lake, the fountain shoots water as high as 150 metres while perfectly synchronised to a soundtrack ranging from classical Arabic music to Whitney Houston. Shows run every 30 minutes from 6pm to 11pm, with each lasting around five minutes. It's the kind of nightly spectacle most cities would charge a premium for — Dubai gives it away.
